NEW 2nd level Education Brochure 2015-16 !
Our Secondary School Programme is designed to reflect and compliment themes across Geography, Science, Biology/Ecology, Maths, History, Business, CSPE, LCVP, LCA and the Transition Year Programme. All school years and groups are welcome to take part in any of our activities listed below.
Along with our wide range of student-centred, curriculum-based educational activities, we cater for specific subject units and class groups. We offer a Junior and Leaving Certificate Ecology Field Study Day as part of the Biology curriculum; a social and community enterprise case-study for LCVP (and Business) students, along with education and recreational activities for 1st Year, Transition Years and Leaving Certificate Applied students.
We also encourage schools to visit Castlecomer Discovery Park as part of team-building efforts and start/end of term activity days. Schools can combine educational and recreational activities (Zipline & Advanced High Ropes Courses, Tree Top Adventure Walk, Climbing Wall, Leap of Faith, Orienteering Trails, Boating etc.) to create the perfect package for your visit.

See what some of our school visitors have said about us!
“The delivery by the ladies was great, they obviously know their stuff. The mammal traps were super and the girls loved the fact that they got to see mice. That will stay with them when they are answering exam Q and/or portfolio interview Qs. The fact that every group had equipment to do the line transect abiotic measurements was also excellent.”
(Michele, Presenation Thurles, 7th October 2013)
“………the day was fantastic for the girls. Everything was well organised, very safe and fun orientated. The staff were very friendly and accommodating especially to students who got into difficulty or were anxious in any way. I would definately recommend Castlecomer Discovery Park to my colleagues or other PE teachers or sports teams. Thanks again and best of luck with everything”
(Presentation Clonmel, 17th September 2013)
