Castlecomer Discovery Park, Ireland’s favourite Adventure Park
Re-opens for Mid Term with Exciting New Activities
Spring into Mid Term break with a family visit to Castlecomer Discovery Park, which opens specifically these school holidays from 16 to 24 February for fun and active adventure, with two brand new activities to enjoy!
Much to the relief of parents and child minders across the country, the Discovery Park will provide respite from cabin fever, and help tire out little legs, keeping children (and adults) active and energetic in the fresh Spring air.
“The team at Castlecomer Discovery Park is constantly working to improve customer experience and deliver a fresh programme of events, and this year is no exception with two brand new activities on the agenda – Axe Throwing and Beginners Mountain Biking,” commented Kathy Purcell, Strategic Development Officer, Castlecomer Discovery Park.
The axe throwing range is located in the heart of the park’s stunning woodland and presents a hilarious and challenging activity for team building or corporate days out too. Trained instructors will assist throughout he Mid Term break, to ensure visitors hit the mark.
Mountain Biking for Beginners is another brand new and exciting activity available to visitors this Mid Term. For those new to the sport, the single-track path system is a relatively easy trail, with plenty of daring ramps and bends to navigate, and a great way to ease into the sport before attempting some of the more advanced paths, whilst trained instructors will remain on hand to teach basic skills and help increase confidence.
Speaking of the new addition, Ms. Purcell explained, “Connecting with nature as well as getting physically active is a cornerstone of the Park’s philosophy, and mountain bikes are a really fun way to exercise,”
Of course, the Park’s favourite activities will also re-open for Mid Term. All ages can discover their adventurous side with a trip down Ireland’s longest zipwire, cloud walking on the majestic Octagon High Ropes course, navigating the tree top walk which overlooks the river Deane, or trying their hand at Archery. A varied string of walking and orienteering trails through the beautiful and magical woodlands accommodates all levels of fitness.
For many families the enchanting elf village at the park is a must visit. This area has grown and developed considerably since the giant bouncing net was created to complement the junior woodland adventure course. The Canopy Café also opens its doors to provide delicious coffee and snacks under the trees and give parents an opportunity to relax as their little ones explore the magical elf village.
Castlecomer Discovery Park in Kilkenny is a sure way to break cabin fever and ditch the digital screens for exercise, activity and adventure, no matter what the weather, giving them a mid-term break that’s worth talking about back at school.
Located just over 90 minutes south of Dublin, the Castlecomer Experience in Kilkenny is a treat for the entire family, and truly features something for every age and ability, with enough action-packed activity to fill an entire day.
