Usually at this time we would be welcoming hundreds of school children to take part in our education programmes, but this year things are a bit different so we thought we would bring elements of our education programme into your home, helping you to keep the little ones entertained and engaged in fun learning activities.
Our Education Officer Nichola, has devised a number of worksheets that you can print off and have some fun with. All activities can be done in your home with materials you can find in your garden or very near your home.
“Our education programmes all focus around developing a sense of nature connection through outdoor play and learning. Usually we use the 80 acres of stunning woodland and lakes as our canvas, but we have created these activities especially for you to do at home during this time. These activities are simple but enjoyable while providing learning opportunities. We look forward to supporting you through this time and providing activities that will give you to the tools to make learning fun” Nichola Salmon
We will be adding new sheets periodically, so make sure to keep you eyes on our social media to keep up to date.
Our first activity is Rock Balancing – Try it out! Click the link below for PDF print outs or see pictures below.

Butterflies & Cocooning
Never before did we think that cocooning would be so much part of our daily lives, it usually being the preserve of butterflies and moths! Cocooning is nature’s way of keeping things safe, and that is what we are doing by staying home to save lives.
Here are our latest activity sheets for the little ones in your life. Today we are taking the theme of Butterflies and Cocooning to teach curriculum linked lessons. We hope you find them useful and fun!
