A unique attraction which will enable visitors to experience a 500 metre walk through the beautiful riverside trees at Castlecomer Discovery Park is on its way! This walk will be nestled in the tree top canopy some 10 metres above ground level and will allow for spectacular views back toward Castlecomer town, the Wandesforde Estate and the River Deen. The tree top walk will incorporate some challenges along the way, and there will be a must-do challenge when visiting Castlecomer with a school group, social group or with family or friends. It will take approx 60 minutes to complete the course and all participants will be harnessed to a safety line and will wear a safety helmet. More information will follow during the coming weeks.
TURNIP CARVING COMPETITION
We’d like to say a big thank you for all of the fantastic entries into our Turnip Carving Competition.
All the turnip carvings were very imaginative and creative, and we were delighted to have them on display here at the visitor centre!
As it was a competition we had to have a winner! It was difficult to choose, but in the end we had joint winners who took 1st place. Congratulations to Joshua Moles and Mary Bolger; you are our winners! Thank you once again to everybody for participating in our competition. Well done to all.
